Arid Agritec Ltd was founded in 2006 out of a desire to share decades of research knowledge and commercial horticultural experience in helping growers to use the very latest technology to overcome the challenges of producing the highest quality crops in arid climates.
Since that time we have built an enviable reputation across all our North African markets for providing our customers with the highest quality, state-of-the-art SMART crop covers and the knowledge on how best to exploit them to produce the highest quality crops possible. We pride ourselves on the close working relationships we enjoy with some of the regions most influential protected crop growers after proving our dedication to first-rate service and the value of our unique growing solutions to their business.
Our company is located within the University of Lancaster’s Environment Centre (LEC) which houses one of the largest and most influential groups of environmental scientists in the European Union. Within LEC we work side-by-side with researchers from the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture ensuring that we are always at the forefront of developments in novel approaches to commercial crop production. Building on our research success in crop responses to altered light regimes under state-of-the-art polyethylene crop covers Arid Agritec Ltd became the sole distributor for the manufacturer of those covers, bpi-visqueen (), in , and North Africa in July 2006.
A recent exciting development for Arid has been our co-operation with Haygrove Tunnels Ltd who manufactures innovative low-cost tunnel structures for use in challenging climates. We firmly believe that combined with our polyethylene SMART covers range the addition of these innovative tunnel structures to our portfolio really does provide our customers with unique opportunities to fine-tune their growing environments so as to get the most out of their crops.
